Really great week! We had some great investor meetings, got vacuum manifold components started printing, had some great NYC space week events (shout out Evan!), and NASA’s new SBIR’s actually have spacesuit work for the first time in a few years. The space week events were great, and I feel like the work I’ve done over the last few months and years to connect myself within the BNY community can really help bring more space work into the navy yard, making this a hub for the coming rise of space development companies. Good for the whole ecosystem - rising tides and all that. On the vacuum manifold side, both should be done my mid next week assuming we don’t find anything we want to change from the first half. It also feels very gratifying to see more grant opportunities from NASA on suit development focused on Moon to Mars pathways, and acknowledging that the current xEMU suit proposals and suits under development aren’t going to be sufficient for the mid-term future of spaceflight. From people closer to the research than I am, it seems there is also some question about their sufficiency for the short-term, but we’ll have to see.
